Partner Dance Lessons: June 4 - July 9, 2021
Taught by Bill Pedrick

  • Place & Time
    Fridays, June 4 - July 9, 7:00 - 8:30pm at:
    Contemporary Dance & Fitness Studio
    18 Langdon Street
    Montpelier, VT

Each class in this series will include a 1-hour lesson followed by 30 minutes of open dancing for practice. This 6-class series will provide two lessons each in Waltz, Rumba, and Swing. The lessons will be geared toward beginners. No prior experience necessary, but please bring a partner. (See Covid precautions, below.)
Please plan to arrive about 15 minutes ahead of time so we can be ready to go at 7:00.

  • Pre-registration
To register, please contact Bill Pedrick via email at pedrick@vermontdancesport.com or by calling (802) 272-9468.

  • Costs
Classes are $15/person per class. If you pay for the entire series of 6 classes at the beginning, there is a $10 discount, so the cost becomes $80/person for the series. Payment will be collected at the studio before the beginning of the class. (Note: Cash or check only. We can not accept credit cards.)

  • Covid precautions
Sadly, since we are still dealing with Covid, we will be takiing several precautions.
Partners: Normally at dances and in lessons, we exchange partners to get used to dancing with others. We will not do that in this series. You will only be dancing with your own partner.
Masks: We ask that anyone who is not fully vaccinated please wear a mask.

  • Shoes
While you can dance in any shoes you wish, we strongly recommend that you bring some type of soft-soled shoe that allows you to easily turn your feet on the floor. Leather-soled closed-toe dress shoes are a good option. If that is not possible, you could dance in socks. Once you get “serious” about dancing, you may decide to purchase shoes made specifically for ballroom or swing dancing. This is what we use, but it is certainly not a requirement.

  • Clothes
We suggest comfortable clothes that allow you to move easily, but not sweatpants or workout clothes. It is certainly not necessary to “dress up” for classes, but you will probably feel more comfortable wearing clothes that you might wear when going out socially.

  • Cancellations
If for any reason we need to cancel the series, we will contact everyone who signed-up a week ahead of the start date.
